Overview

Fatima College has designed a Student-centred Curriculum and Choice Based Credit System which has provides an opportunity to make radical curricular modifications offering Inter-Disciplinary Optional Papers / Subjects from one’s own and other Departments, and Value added Certificate / Crash Courses for all students. The curriculum is designed to focus on a holistic education that is based on needs, Value / Ethic / Career and Research. Computer based papers are offered by all departments. In order to stimulate research, projects are mandatory for the final year students. Hands on training through Internship and exposure programmes are offered by most departments. The general characteristic of change in syllabus is according to relevance, Vocational Skills and Applied aspects.

An English Attainment Test (EAT) to first year undergraduates with Bridge Course followed by regular Remedial Teaching, three streams of English Course-Basic, Intermediate, Advanced and Spoken English Classes enhance the Communication Skills of the students. Apart from the Regular Curriculum, Value Education, Human Rights Education and Environmental Studies and Soft Skills are also imparted.

The College has kept pace with the emerging trends Information Technology by introducing programmes with Computer Applications (B.Sc. Computer Science, B.C.A., B.Sc. I.T., M.C.A., M.Sc. (IT&M),  Commerce with Computer Applications, Sociology with Computer Applications and a compulsory IT based Foundation Course (for all Undergraduates). Postgraduate courses like M.A. Economics, M.Com., M.Sc. Physics and M.Com. with Computer Applications have introduced Computer Application papers.
