about
DST CURIE Instrumentation Centre
  • DST CURIE Project, an initiative by DST aims at strengthening the research infrastructure of women’s institutions in India by providing state-of–art equipment, laboratory facilities, and funding for advanced research. This project grant is meant to enhance research capabilities, promote innovation, and encourages more women to pursue careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.

  • Fatima College is sanctioned with DST CURIE grant to foster a conducive research environment, leading to scientific breakthroughs and pioneering advancements. Eventually, the College has successfully established DST CURIE Instrumentation Centre equipped with sophisticated instruments, internet and computer facilities.  These facilities ensure smooth execution of research activities and the conduct of hands-on training sessions, workshops, and the others.

project team
  • Principal Investigator: Dr. Sr. G. Celine Sahaya Mary, Principal
  • Nodal Officer: Dr. M. Ragam, Assistant Professor, The Research Centre of Physics
  • Co-Investigators:

        • Dr. A. Tamil Selvi, Associate Professor, Department of Zoology

        • Dr. M. Priyadharsani, Assistant Professor, Research Centre of Chemistry

Departments Involved
  • The CURIE Project is a multidisciplinary initiative supported by following science departments with a focus on fostering research and innovation

        • The Research Centre of Physics
        • The Research Centre of Chemistry
        • Department of Zoology
  • The above departments extend their concerted contributions such as their subject expertise, research capabilities, and collaborative spirit to achieve the goals of the CURIE Project, aimed at strengthening the institution’s commitment to excellence in STEM education and research.
Collaboration with Other Colleges

In a bid to enhance the scope of research and training programs for students and promote excellence in Research & Development (R&D), a strategic alliance and mutual collaboration with other institutions is under process. This collaboration would raise the bars of R&D standards and provide enriched research facilities, encouraging innovation and awareness on Science and Technology (S&T) among students.
