Department established in 1964.

Regular Curriculum includes the Complete Syllabus of IES, IAS Economics, UPSC and TNPSC Economics syllabus.

Professors with international exposure.

Competitive skills paper gives exposure on international exams, preparing CV, applications, interviews and group discussions.

Association activities like workshops and trainings to enhance the leadership skills.

International Students.

Economic Journalism paper helps the student to write economic issues in magazines and newspapers critically.

Exposures on current year IT calculations, Land Taxes and GST calculations etc. will help the students to learn all practical economic activities of life.

Economics of NGO Management paper gives an introduction to Social Entrepreneurs, who are ready to adventure into starting any social development works through Trusts.

Entrepreneurial Development course trains the students to write business proposals etc.

Skill based curriculum includes training for writing application for Jobs and for writing Curriculum Vitae.

Export Business and Stock Market gives an introduction to start business by exporting and through share market.

M.A. Economics gives complete training in UGC NET exam Portions.

Compulsory internship in any one industry for UG and PG including Abroad internships.

Research project for B.A and M.A Economics.
