OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the scheme is to prepare SC/ST/OBC Candidates and candidates from Minority Communities for appearing in NET or SET.
NET/SET COACHING FOR PG, M.PHIL. & RESEARCH STUDENTS
In order to prepare the candidates for selection as lecturers, the advisory committee prepared exhaustive study materials ranging from topics like Test of logical Reasoning, Numerical aptitude, verbal skills, Research & teaching aptitude and general science (all related to Paper I). Extensive worksheets and handouts were prepared to help the candidates with their major subjects. The candidates are from Physics, Tamil, Economics & Commerce major.
OVRALL EVALUATION OF THE SCHEME

Students were motivated to take up the NET examinations. |

Positive feedback was received from the candidates. The kind of coaching given has helped them overcome the fear of competitive exams. They are now fully equipped to undertake such examinations. Students have shown better performances in their respective major papers. |
HIGHLIGHTS OF PROGRESS

Students were given a pep talk by Dr. B. Shyamala, Coordinator, IQAC, Fatima College and Dr. Mary Magdalene Abraham, Dept. of English, Fatima College and motivated into joining the NET coaching class. |

Most of the PG, M.Phil. & Research students enthusiastically attended the classes. |
|
The classes helped students to perform well in the major subjects too. |

There is a visible improvement in the Reasoning skills, communication skills and overall confidence level of the students. |
|
As a result of working with worksheets, the students have gained confidence in attempting competitive exams. |
|
Power Point Presentations generated a lot of learning interest. |
|
In the midst of various activities, the students showed tremendous interest in attending the NET classes. |
|
The NET coaching center has become a veritable knowledge Resource Centre. |
