Fatima College is a minority Institution administered by the St. Joseph’s Society, Madurai.
The Vision statement of the College is “Empower women by developing human capabilities through quality education based on Christian values, making them responsible citizens who can invent and create new things for the advancement of the society and promote communal harmony in the multi-religious and multi-cultural reality of India.” Higher Education institutions are ill-equipped to face the challenges of inclusion. There are large disparities in enrolment rates across rural and urban areas, sex, caste and religion. Hence the disadvantaged groups viz SC/ST/OBC/Minorities and Physically Challenged Women are given priority in the following aspects.

Strictly follow the Govt. norm and admit 50% from Minority and Govt. Quota of SC/ST/OBC students.

Providing equal opportunities to learn and the College accommodates 800 students in the hostel.
|
|
Slow learners are given remedial coaching in Spoken English and evening and night studies are facilitated.
|
|
There is a healthy practice of helping the financially weak students in the form of concessions and scholarships.
|
|
Summer Camps and Winter Camps are conducted for these disadvantaged girls.
|
|
Add on Courses are conducted to improve the employability of these disadvantaged girl students.
|
|
Placement and Career Guidance Cell enhance soft skills in these students.

FUNCTIONS
|
To ensure equity and equal opportunity to the community at large in the college and bring about social inclusion.

To disseminate the information related to the schemes and programmes for the welfare of the socially weaker section as well as notifications/memoranda, office orders of the Government and other related agencies/organizations issued from time to time.
|
|
To establish co-ordination with the Government and other agencies/organizations to mobilize academic and financial resources to provide assistance to the students who belonging to the disadvantaged groups.

To organize periodic meetings and to monitor the progress of different schemes.
