The Research & Development Cell of Fatima College, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, organises this international conference in collaboration with PEACE, USA.

PEACE (People Empowerment Alliance for Creativity & Education) is a Maryland-based nonprofit dedicated to creativity, education and community empowerment. PEACE Institute for Sustainability & Environmental Research focuses on scientific innovation, entrepreneurship, environmental stewardship and nanomaterials.

Fatima College is a postgraduate college for women affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University, and a Catholic minority institution established and run by St. Joseph’s Society of Madurai.

Theme & Rationale

The conference focuses on transformative research for a sustainable future through innovation and entrepreneurship in nanotechnology and smart technologies. Nanotechnology, Industry 4.0 and digital transformation are highlighted as drivers of sustainable development and innovation.

Entrepreneurship is presented as a means of translating research into practical solutions — while green energy, smart materials and healthcare technologies address environmental and societal challenges.

Ethical business practices, smart management, financial innovation, global collaboration and responsible governance are emphasised as essential for sustainable and balanced growth.

Institutional Profile

Fatima College began in 1953 with 63 students, was upgraded to postgraduate status in 1964, and became autonomous in 1990. It now offers 24 undergraduate programmes, 15 postgraduate programmes and 3 professional programmes, with 8 departments recognised as research centres. The College has a strength of 3,958 students, 219 teaching staff and 99 non-teaching staff.

It received Five Star Status of Merit from NAAC in 1999, CPE status from UGC in 2004, and NAAC re-accreditation with ‘A’ in 2006 and 2013, and ‘A++’ in 2021. Fatima College secured the 100th Rank in India Rankings 2025 (NIRF).

Research & Development Cell

The Research & Development Cell aims to tap the research potential of staff, students and research scholars, and to promote a research ambience on campus. It encourages innovative ideas for the development and sustenance of the environment and society, and provides a platform for students to exhibit research skills through Students’ Research Projects.

The Cell serves as the registration and conference coordination point for ICTRSF–2026.
